CAMP JULIAN OLIVAS, Pampanga – Operatives of the Angeles City Police Office (ACPO) have arrested a tricycle driver who was said to be carrying a stash of marijuana along McArthur Highway, Barangay Santo Cristo, Angeles City, Pampanga.
The suspect was identified as Michael Benjie Tayag Moya Jr., 26 and a resident of Dau Ville Dau, in Mabalacat, Pampanga.
A total of 32 pieces of marijuana bricks were confiscated from Moya which were wrapped with a packaging tape and weighs around 28 kilograms.
The marijuana bricks were estimated to have a street value of P480,000.
Meanwhile, operatives of Bocaue Municipal Police Station conducted buy-bust operation at Brgy. Taal, Bocaue, Bulacan which resulted in the death of a suspect while four others were arrested after a shootout ensued during said operation.
The slain suspect was identified as Leonardo dela Torre Aquino alias Nardo while the arrested suspects were identified as Manolo Mercado, Jojo delos Santos, Raymond Condez, and Ryan Gonzales.
Confiscated from the suspects were seven pieces of plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, a caliber .38 revolver loaded with ammunition, assorted illegal drugs paraphernalia and marked money.
Police forces in the Northern part of the country continue to gain success in their fight against illegal drugs since an all-out war was declared by the new PNP leadership. (Franco G. Regala)
