SAMAL, Bataan – A pretty bank teller was raped at knifepoint and robbed of valuables inside her home Saturday in a middle-class subdivision in Barangay Sta. Lucia.
The 22-year-old victim, whose name was not disclosed, was sleeping alone in her bedroom when the suspect broke into the two-bedroom bungalow by destroying the lock of the main door, according to investigators.
Senior Inspector Dexter Ebbat said the rape and robbery occurred at 2:30 a.m. when most of the neighbors were fast asleep.
The ease with which the suspect barged into the room bolstered suspicion that he is known to the victim.
A construction worker, who previously did repair on the house, is now being sought by police.
The victim told the police that she was roused from sleep by the suspect who covered her mouth and started touching her sensitive parts.
The man, whose face was covered with an improvised mask, pointed a knife at the victim and ordered her to hand her the bag which contained P2,000 and ATM card.
The suspect found a duct tape in one of the cabinets and used it to tie both hands and feet of the victim. He proceeded to cover the victim’s eyes with her own clothes and raped her.
