SINAIT, Ilocos Sur – A magnitude-5.3 earthquake rocked Northern Luzon and Metro Manila Sunday night.
Local Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology Researcher Porferio de Peralta said the earthquake occurred at 9:40 p.m.
Its epicenter was traced 14 kilometers northwest of Bolinao, Pangasinan with a depth of 26 kilometers.
The quake was felt at Intensity 5 in Bolinao, Pangasinan; Intensity 4 in Lingayen, Alaminos City, Sual, and San Fabian, all in Pangasinan, and Alilem, Ilocos Sur; Intensity 3 in San Carlos City and Dagupan City, Pangasinan and San Emilio, Ilocos Sur; Intensity 2 in San Fernando City and Bauang, La Union, Baguio City, Makati City, Pasig City, Quezon City, and Pasay City; and Intensity 1 in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.
No damage to properties was reported, De Peralta said, but it can cause aftershocks. (Freddie G. Lazaro)
