Remember Rachel Lobangco?
She’s a former fashion model who rose to fame via a beer commercial which branded her as “She-Boom” girl in early 1990s and later ventured on several movies, including her debut in the fantasy-drama “Kokak.”
These days, Lobangco is a picture of a contented woman who teaches fire dancing, manages her mother’s multi-million skin care business and an events place, and takes care of her daughter Leona.
“I still want to go back to show business if the right offer comes along,” said Lobangco, during an exclusive interview at the sidelines of the Mr. Gay World Philippines 2016 pageant held at the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City recently.
Lobangco even goes abroad to teach fire dancing, a performance art that involves manipulation of fire.
Lobangco, who turned heads in her sexy evening gown that highlighted her curvaceous form during the pageant, laughed when asked if she was in a relationship these days.
Lobangco said that she simply enjoys doing costume play (cosplay) with her daughter.
Asked if she would allow her 17-year-old daughter to enter showbiz or join a beauty contest, Lobangco said: “It’s her call. I won’t stop her. Pero mukhang mahilig s’yang mag-aral. Kasi gusto naming i-continue n’ya ’yung business namin.
Meron kaming wedding venue sa Tagaytay at ’yung skin clinic business namin (Elvie Pineda Skin Care). Four branches na ’yung skin clinic namin.”
Lobangco said that she considers her stint in showbiz as the biggest part of her life and has no regrets whatsoever about it.
Following in her footsteps in showbiz is her nephew Winnier Neilson Bruno, son of her sister Lani Lobangco, now happily married to Sta. Lucia magnate Resty Santos.
“My sister Lani is OK and she’s here in the Philippines. But my nephew is now one of the newest talents of the Kapuso network. Ang galing ng training n’ya as an actor,” Lobangco said.
