ACTRESS-politician Alma Moreno has asked for prayers for her son Mark Anthony Fernandez who was caught with a kilo of marijuana in Pampanga last October 3.
“Ang hinihiling ko lang po ay ipagdasal ninyo ang anak ko. Tulungan n’yo po akong ipagdasal ang anak ko. Yun lang po,” said Moreno, in a short statement after she left the Pampanga court which suspended arraignment for the actor last Thursday.
The arraignment of Fernandez was suspended after the camp of the actor filed a motion to reinvestigate his cases.
Last Wednesday, Alma visited her son actor Mark Anthony at the Angeles City police station in Pampanga where he is detained.
Moreno, 57, spent two hours with her son in the jail.
Reports said that Moreno was given sedatives after her blood pressure went up as a result of her son’s arrest.
Mark Anthony, 37, is the son of Moreno and ex-partner, the late actor Rudy Fernandez, who passed away due to periampullary cancer in 2008.
Melissa Garcia, former wife of Mark Anthony, apologized to her ex-husband that she cannot be with him this time.
“I’m sorry I can’t be with you this time. But you have my prayers. I will always have respect and care for you. Thank you for being a good father to your children. God will not forsake you, so don’t ever lose hope,” Garcia said on social media.
Grae Fernandez, son of Mark Anthony, has posted a touching message to his father on social media. He said: “No matter what people say about you, I will always be proud to be your son.”
In 2006, Mark Anthony was married to Melissa Garcia and they have two children. They have already separated. Mark Anthony is in a relationship these days with Diana, a model.
Mark Anthony was recently seen in the popular Kapuso afternoon teleserye “Wish I May” and also appeared in the critically-acclaimed movie “Ma’ Rosa,” the country’s official entry to the 2017 Oscar Awards Best Foreign Language category.
