More than 50 celebrities are now on the drug list of the National Capital Region Police Office as additional names were included following the arrest of two former starlets in separate buy-bust operations.
Chief Supt. Oscar Albayalde, NCRPO director, said more or less 50 celebrities are now on their list after former sexy stars Sabrina M. and Krista Miller revealed some names when Quezon City policemen arrested them recently.
“Every time we make arrests, more names are being included because they were all telling us the persons they transact with,” said Albayalde.
Albayalde said some names of celebrities were frequently being mentioned, including Sabrina M and Krista Miller, during the interrogation. He, however, refused to divulge the names.
Director General Ronald M. dela Rosa, chief of the Philippine National Police, vowed to run after celebrities who are into drugs, particularly ecstasy and other party drugs.
Dela Rosa encouraged the celebrities to surrender instead of risking their life and limbs and even their reputation if they are arrested in legitimate police operations.
“They know that we know who they are, so I encourage them to go to the nearest police station and surrender,” said Dela Rosa.
Albayalde said 54 celebrities are on their list based on intelligence reports and information given by drug pushers or users who were arrested. “These are all being subjected to validation,” said Albayalde.
Albayalde urged talent managers and owners of television stations to voluntarily surrender the celebrities who are hooked on illegal drugs.
“I appeal to them to surrender or subject their talent to drug test. They should not wait for that these celebrities are subjected to Oplan: Tokhang,” said Albayalde. (Aaron B. Recuenco)
