Award-winning actor Dennis Trillo has joined the list of Filipino celebrities who have been tested negative for drugs.
Trillo and his talent manager Popoy Caritativo posted the result of the drug test on their respective Instagram account.
“In our efforts to show support for the government’s campaign against illegal drugs, Luminary Talent Management has taken the initiative to have our talents tested,” Caritativo said.
Trillo, 35, was negative for both methamphetamine (drug) and tetrahydrocannabinol (found in marijuana) following a drug test on October 5.
The Kapuso actor will soon be seen in the new film “Bakit Lahat ng Gwapo May Boyfriend?” with Anne Curtis-Smith and Paolo Ballesteros.
Other talents of Caritativo include Janice de Belen, Tom Rodriguez, Rafael Rosell, JC De Vera, among others.
Recently, actors who were tested negative for drugs were Jake Cuenca, Enrique Gil, Diego Loyzaga, Luis Manzano, Solenn Heussaff, James Reid, Anne Curtis-Smith, and Baron Geisler.
Celebrities who were arrested for alleged drug use were Mark Anthony Fernandez, Sabrina M., Krista Miller and radio disc jockey Karen Bordador.
Last October 8, the National Capital Region Police Office said that 54 local celebrities have been included in its revised drug list.
Police said that the celebrities are into shabu, cocaine and party drugs.
NCRPO director Chief Superintendent Oscar Albayalde has appealed to the talent managers of the stars to voluntarily surrender their talents linked to drug use.
“I appeal to them to surrender or subject their talent to drug test. They should not wait for these celebrities [to be] subjected to Oplan Tokhang,” said Albayalde, in a report on GMA News.
