CEU blasted San Beda College Alabang, 71-29, last Sunday at the St. Scholastica’s College gym to remain unscathed in five games. The Scorpions go for the sweep and a twice-to-beat edge in the Final Four against St. Scholastica this Sunday at host St. Jude Catholic School gym.
In the midgets division, DLSZ bested Poveda, 41-23, and St. Paul College Pasig nipped Miriam College, 38-37, to set up a best-of-three Finals clash next week. DLSZ beat St. Paul in last season’s championship.
The junior quartefinal cast, meanwhile, has been completed, led by defending champion Chiang Kai Shek College and DLSZ which swept Groups A and B, respectively.
In volleyball, 46th season runner-up SBCA secured the top semifinal ranking with a six-game sweep of the senior elimination phase, capped by a 25-14, 21-25, 25-10, 25-21 triumph over Philippine Women’s University.
DLSZ paces the midgets side with a 6-0 card following a 25-20, 25-19 victory over SBCA.
DLSZ and Miriam will lead the eight-team field in the junior quarterfinals scheduled next weekend after similar five-game sweeps of the Groups A and B elimination round.
The futsal senior semifinals this Sunday will pit top-ranked PWU against Miriam and Assumption College versus SBCA at the University of Asia & the Pacific gym.
