Despite consistent warnings and actions done by President Duterte’s government against lawless elements, there still seems to be criminals who remain ruthless in their wicked ways.
This after an 18-year-old third year student of Adamson University died after being held up and stabbed 18 times by two unidentified men Friday night in Taguig City.
Public Information Officer Supt. Jenny Tecson of the Southern Police District said the victim was identified as Nick Russell Oniot of Central Signal, Taguig City.
Tecson said the incident happened at No. 12 Martinez St., Barangay Central Signal. Oniot was later on declared dead on arrival at the Taguig-Pateros District Hospital.
A friend of Oniot identified as Norman Orolfo Bueno could not hide his disgust on the fate suffered by the victim, noting that several people reportedly saw the incident but did nothing to prevent the crime from happening.
“He is a graduating student po. Hinoldup at walang awang pinagsasasaksak ng 18x ng dalawang suspect sa Martinez St., Barangay Central Signal Village, Taguig bandang alas diyes ng gabi,” said Bueno “Ang masakit nito marami daw po ang nakakita pero ni isa wala ho nagtangkang tumulong.”
Citing information he gathered around the crime scene, Bueno disclosed that Oniot just came from a convenience store when two men snatched the victim’s bag, with one of them mercilessly stabbing the victim.
“Sinundan daw po hanggang makarating sa Martinez St., medyo madilim po at walang masyadong tao. Then doon na po nangyari ’yung pagpatay,” said Bueno.
Reports have it one of the suspects was already nabbed by authorities which is still being confirmed at press time. (Martin Sadongdong)
