Miguel Tabuena rode two eagles on his way to a six-under par 66 yesterday that lifted him to a tie for 28th place in the $7-million CIMB Classic in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Tabuena, the only Filipino player in the PGA Tour event, eagled par-5 holes No. 3 and No. 18 and added five birdies against a bogey and a double bogey.
With one round remaining, Tabuena is at eight-under 208 in the company of Americans Jim Herman, Hudson Swafford and Kevin Kisner.
India’s Anirban Lahiri moved one round away from securing his maiden PGA win after a sizzling 65 for a three-day total of 19-under 197.
Lahiri is four shots ahead of American Justin Thomas (71) and Russell Knox of Scotland (68).
