THE journey for beauty queen-turned-fashion model Janine Tugonon to join the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show has ended after she failed to make it to the final round of the popular lingerie runway extravaganza.
“U guys are d best. Was really sad but thats life. Wud have been great if theres a filipina in vsfs. but oh well.
Let’s keeping working hard,” said Tugonon on Twitter.
Tugonon was one of the hundreds of models who auditioned for the fashion show which will be broadcast in December.
She made it to the second round of the callbacks with 29 other fashion models.
“They called me back but didn’t make it,” she said.
Words of encouragement poured for Tugonon whose fans asked her to try again in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show next year.
“Try again next year. Never ever give up. Represent Filipinas in the VS Show. We love you,” one of her supporters commented on social media.
“Keep going Janine. It’s not the end. Perhaps it’s not your time this year,” another fan posted on twitter.
“It’s ok Janine madami pang chance. Ikaw pa ba fighter ka! Next year try mo ulit wag bibitaw! Andito kami para sayo,” a post read.
Tugonon has been making waves as a fashion model abroad when she became the first Filipino to be featured in a commercial for Victoria Secrets Pink, which caters to female college students ages 13 to 22.
Recently, she posed nude in her latest shoot when she won a modelling contact along with 11 other girls who will be featured in an art calendar. The photo shoot was done by David Belllemere in the Dominican Republic.
