BaliPure hardly a broke a sweat after ripping Coast Guard, 25-12, 25-8, 25-9, as the elimination round of the Shakey’s V-League Season 13 Reinforced Conference came to a close last night at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
American import Kate Morrell had 20 points built on 19 kills and one block while Dzi Gervacio added 13 points to lead the Water Defenders to an easy victory that gave them a 5-2 record at the end of the elims.
The win also put BaliPure in a share of second to fourth places with Bureau of Customs and the loser of the Pocari Sweat-University of Santo Tomas match being played at presstime.
The Pocari-UST winner will secure the top seed in the Final Four while the placings of the three 5-2 teams are going to be determined through a quotient system.
Coast Guard ended its campaign by losing all seven games, with Christine Maderazo emerging as the top scorer with just three points.
Meanwhile, Champion Supra dealt fellow semifinalist Air Force its first loss in five outings after prevailing 25-27, 25-22, 25-22, 27-25 in the lone game of the Spikers’ Turf.
