A place called Ice Flower in Alabang, Muntinlupa serves Bingsu ice cream, a centuries-old cold dessert that originated in Korea. Our “Matanglawin” TV staff discovered this recently in one of our recent episodes.
Originally called “Patbingsu,” it was first made during the Joson Dynasty, the longest ruling dynasty in Korea.
The iced shaved dessert is a brew composed of milk, green tea powder, chocolate, depending on your preference.
A-jun kwon, owner of Ice Flower, introduced us to the making of artificial snow, using freon tap water and snow machine. He said that tap water combined with freon = artificial snow.
That simple? You bet.
