Fair weather will prevail over the whole country today as the low-pressure area east of Mindanao may not likely intensify into a tropical cyclone, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration.
The LPA, which was located at 590 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur at around 4 a.m. yesterday, was too far to have direct impact on any part of the country.
PAGASA said partly cloudy to cloudy skies will be experienced over the whole country with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms mostly over the eastern section of Mindanao.
By Thursday until Saturday, the tail-end of a cold front will start to bring light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms over the islands of Batanes, Calayan, and Babuyan.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with some isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
The tail-end of cold front serves as the front boundary of two air masses, hot and cold, that produces clouds and rain.
By Sunday, Cagayan, Isabela, and Aurora will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms due to the tail-end of cold front.
Batanes, Calayan, and Babuyan will have cloudy skies with light rains while Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with some isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
By Monday, PAGASA said the Bicol region and Quezon will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms due to the tail-end of a cold front. (ELLALYN B. DE VERA)
