POP singer Charice has said that she’s in charge of budgeting her money these days and she enjoys it.
“Ngayon alam ko na. This is the first time na ako nagha-handle sa sarili ko and a lot of people do not know that,” said Charice when asked about how she takes care of her earnings during an interview on “Tonight with Boy Abunda” on ABS-CBN.
“I’m in control and alam ko na po paano i-value ang lahat. When I hold the money ‘budget na natin ito’ and that’s how I want it,” she said.
Charice, 24, also cleared rumors surrounding her family, particularly involving her mother.
“Siguro po kasi these past few years, nasanay iyong mga tao sa lahat ng issues sa nangyari sa aming pamilya,” she said.
In 2013, it would be recalled that the singer had a falling out with her mother when she came out as lesbian on national television. She revealed that she was in a relationship with singer Alyssa Quijano.
In 2015, Charice and her mother reconciled. Charice and Quijano are celebrating their fourth anniversary as partners this year.
“Ang masasabi ko lang po, just like other normal families, kami po ni Alyssa ay hindi na po bumabata. Nandoon na po kami sa point na napagdesisyunan na po namin na bumukod. Right now, my mom is with my brother and other relatives.
From Cabuyao, they moved to Quezon,” she said.
“Nandoon pa rin naman po iyong communication. Iba lang talaga sa amin ni Alyssa kasi first time kumbaga – in the real world, may sarili na po kaming life together. Let’s just all move on. Para po sa akin, we are good. Alyssa and I are having a great and happy life together. Ang kulang na lang po eh iyong next big step na hihintay ng lahat. I’m okay with her family,” Charice added.
Asked how she keeps their relationship strong, Charice said: “Lagi ko nga pong sinasabing kapag meron kaming hindi pagkakaunawaan or nag-aaway, lagi lang naman iniisip ’yung rason kung bakit kami nagkasama. Pero happy ako. Kahit may ganun, nalalampasan naman.”
Charice appeared on the late-night talk show to promote her latest studio album “Catharsis” now available in record stores.
“Para sa akin ito ang best album na ginawa ko sa buong buhay ko. Lahat po ito hands-on ako mula writing, arrangements, even sa production ako rin ang nag-mix ng mga kanta. Only one cover song and the rest are all original songs,” she said.
Asked about the title “Catharsis” of her new CD, Charice said: “Catharsis is the release of strong emotions in an art form. Gusto ko pag narinig nila ’yung kanta, maiisip nilang sinulat ko talaga ’yung kanta.”
