A man who allegedly raped his teenage daughter was killed Tuesday night when he engaged the arresting policemen in a shootout in Quezon City.
Rogelio (surname withheld), 55, died from five gunshot wounds in the body at East Avenue Medical Center.
He was accused of molesting his 15-year-old daughter in their residence in Barangay Payatas B.
Police learned that Rogelio had been sexually abusing his daughter for four years. The girl decided to tell her mother her ordeal after the father raped her again at 4 a.m. Tuesday.
The teenager’s mother reported the incident to Batasan Police Station (PS-6) which immediately sent a team to arrest the father.
Together with the victim and her mother, police raided their residence at about 10:45 p.m. and found the suspect on the second floor.
The suspect, upon seeing police, reportedly drew a gun and fired once at the operatives.
The lawmen fired back, killing the suspect.
Police seized from the suspect his .38-caliber revolver still loaded with four bullets, two jungle bolos, and a small sachet of suspected shabu.
According to PS-6 investigators, the victim’s 30-year-old sister was also molested by their father when she was younger. (VANNE ELAINE P. TERRAZOLA)
