ACTOR-singer Matteo Guidicelli has said that he would still ask his girlfriend Sarah Geronimo if she wants to get married in Cebu.
“I don’t know yet. Maybe in Cebu. Siyempre – we’ll see if she wants it there,” said Guidicelli, when asked a hypothetical question if he would like to marry Geronimo in Cebu, during an interview on “Tonight with Boy Abunda” on ABS-CBN.
Now on their third year as sweethearts, Guidicelli said that he and his girlfriend are doing okay.
“We’re very good. Sarah and I, we are happy together. She’s doing many outgoing things nowadays and she’s back to work – everything has been good,” he said.
Asked how they celebrated their third anniversary, Guidicelli said: “We swam with the budanding and we celebrated at home in Cebu.”
The actor said that his girlfriend is learning how to speak the Visayan language. “She’s learning. Marunong na s’ya magsalita (ng konting Bisaya).”
Guidicelli, who was last seen in the Kapamilya primetime teleserye “Dolce Amore,” appeared on the show to promote his concert entitled “Matteo Made in Cebu” at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino in Mactan on Nov. 18.
The concert, he said, will feature his favorite songs or songs he grew up with. When asked if he would dance, the actor laughed and said “I’ll be moving.”
“While we were rehearsing, sabi nila, ‘Ano ba yan ang luma ng mga kanta.’ That’s why we have Sir Louie Ocampo as our musical director,” he added. Martin Nievera and KZ Tandingan are his special guests on the show.
Guidicelli, 26, said that he is proud of his roots as a “probinsyano.”
“I’m extra proud of that. I studied in the States but many millennials have forgotten their roots. They should be proud of their origin or where they came from,” he said.
Guidicelli was born and raised in Cebu. Aside from being an actor and singer, he is also an athlete and a businessman. His grandfather is the late Senator and Chief Justice Marcelo Fernan.
