The northeast monsoon or “amihan” will continue to bring cold and rainy weather in a large part of Luzon this week, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration said yesterday.
Cloudy skies with light rains will be experienced over Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Aurora, and Quezon today.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains are expected over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
PAGASA also said partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will prevail over Visayas and Mindanao.
This weather scenario will persist until Wednesday, it added.
By Thursday and Friday, cloudy skies and light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao due to a low pressure area that is expected to develop over the Philippine Sea and move west towards the central and southern part of the country, PAGASA said.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will continue to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the amihan.
PAGASA does not expect the entry or formation of a tropical cyclone inside the country’s area of responsibility throughout the week. (Ellalyn B. de Vera)
