Members of the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) and the Bureau of Correction confiscated 20 high-powered firearms, including a machine gun, and 10 sacks of deadly weapons they conducted “Oplan Galugad” for five consecutive days inside the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City.
BuCor Director Rolando Asuncion said they found 20 high-powered firearms composed of a machine gun, .45 caliber pistols, .9mm pistols and shot guns from November 9 to November 9 to 14.
Asuncion said that the firearms were confiscated inside quadrant 2 and 4 of NBP’s Maximum Security Compound.
He also said they were also able to confiscate improvised bladed weapons and three grenades.
Asuncion added that surprise inspections inside the NBP will continue. (Jean Fernando)
