The Cabanatuan branch of one of the biggest pharmaceutical stores of the country filed a complaint that eventually led to the incarceration of an 84-year-old man for allegedly stealing two diabetic kits.
According to the report of Supt. Ponciano Zafra, Cabanatuan City chief of police, the suspect Rolando Santos dela Rosa, a resident of Barangay Makinabang, Baliuag, Bulacan, was arrested after the drugstore pursued a case against the old man.
Dela Rosa already returned the two diabetic kits but store’s representative Jeffrey Palasigue and their security guard identified as Mark Ocdin insist the suspect took five kits.
“Pinuntahan ko ‘yung kumpare ko dito (Cabanatuan City) para sana humiram ng pandagdag sa pambili ko ng gamot. Binalik ko naman ang 2 kits pero pinakulong pa rin nila ako at kinuha pa nila ang R1,800 kong pera,” said Dela Rosa.
Ocdin denied Dela Rosa’s allegation regarding the lost money though the security guard admits the possibility that his fellow guard might have a hand in that missing cash.
Dela Rosa pleaded the store’s representative about their intention to have him jailed, which eventually fell on deaf ears.
“Wala po akong magagawa, utos lang po ng management ito (to file complaint against Dela Rosa), said Palasigue.
