Families of policemen will have plenty of money to spend this Christmas.
Director Archie Gamboa, head of the Philippine National Police Directorate for Comptrollership, said yesterday that policemen will receive a P5,000 Productivity Enhacement Incentive bonus next month, aside from 14th month pay and P5,000 cash gift that would be available in their Automated Teller Machines this afternoon.
Gamboa said the PEI will be credited to the individual ATM payroll accounts of active duty PNP personnel not earlier than December 2016, pursuant to Executive Order 201, Series of 2016 that provides a modified salary schedule for civilian government personnel and authorizing the grant of additional benefits for both civilian and military and uniformed personnel.
Section 6 of EO 201 says, “Beginning FY 2016, the Productivity Enhancement Incentive shall be given not earlier than December 15 of every year to all qualified government employees at Five Thousand Pesos (P5,000) each for the purpose of improving the government employees’ productivity.”
Senior Supt. Dionardo Carlos, PNP spokesman, said the release of the PEI serves as a morale-booster to the 170,000-strong PNP. Carlos said civilian employees of the PNP will also receive the PEI. (Aaron B. Recuenco)
