Five suspected drug pushers were killed in shootouts with police operatives in simultaneous buy-bust operations in Manila starting Thursday night up to early yesterday morning.
In Tondo district, Albigar Garzola, 28, did not reach the hospital alive after he engaged the police officers in a gunfight following a drug sting at about 10:40 p.m. at the corner of Lacson and Pacheco Streets.
Operatives seized from Garzola a .38-caliber revolver with live bullets, five sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of R2,000, and the boodle money amounting to R500.
Ten minutes after, two drug personalities identified as Jalid Dimiano, 31, of Golden Mosque, Sta. Cruz district; and an alias “Jeffrey” died under McArthur Bridge in Sta. Cruz, Manila, when they fought the cops off during another drug sting.
Operatives of Meisic Police Station seized from the suspects six sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P10,000 and two .38-caliber revolvers.
Two more drug dealers known as alias “Muklo Salic” and “Hussein,” both about 20 to 25 years old were shot dead by policemen at the corner of Rizal Avenue and Remigio Street in Sta. Cruz at about 1:20 a.m. yesterday after they allegedly drew their guns when they sensed that their client was a police officer.
Police recovered from the duo three sachets of shabu, four sachets of dried marijuana leaves, two loaded .38-caliber revolvers, and a Yamaha MIO motorcycle (1541UD).
Meanwhile, five other drug suspects were nabbed in two buy-bust operations in Tondo and Pandacan districts Thursday night. (Analou de Vera)
