A one-month-old infant died after allegedly being punched several times by his uncle in Caloocan City the other day.
The suspect, 25-year-old Ryan Cornelio, a known drug user in the area, is now under police custody.
Investigation showed that Rowena Cornelio woke up at about 7 a.m. and noticed blood oozing from the mouth and nose of her already lifeless son Mark Genesis Cornelio.
Rowena’s elder child, five-year-old Cherry Boy reportedly saw Ryan repeatedly punching the victim.
Ryan and Rowena had a fight prior to the incident, which might be the reason why the suspect turned his ire on the baby.
The siblings are living in the same house, together with Rowena’s family at No. 651 BMBA Compound, Barangay 120, 2nd Ave., Caloocan City.
