8 p.m. – Alab Pilipinas vs Singapore
The Bobby Ray Parks-led Alab Pilipinas begins its title bid tonight against opening night winner Singapore Slingers as the ASEAN Basketball League heads to the Alonte Sports Arena in Biñan, Laguna.
Parks, who was cut by the Westchester Knicks of the NBA D-League last month, is joining the league to help boost the chances of Alab Pilipinas in the six-team regional competition.
Alab is hoping to start its campaign on a high note in the 8 p.m. contest with the Slingers, who opened the ABL season with an 80-62 win over the defending champion Westports Malaysia Dragons last Friday in Singapore.
Coached by former La Salle guard Mac Cuan, Alab is also composed of former ABL cagers Jeric Fortuna, Paulo Hubalde, Val Acuña and ex-pros Robby Celiz and Jens Knuttel.
