KAPUSO star Alden Richards has said that public figures have a big responsibility to do good and act good in front of the people.
“Bottom-line is gumawa tayo ng mabuti especially now na napaka-accessible na ng media for everyone. Since we are public figures, lahat ng mata nasa atin so tayo we should always do good to others for people to see inspiration,” said Richards, during an interview on “#Michael Angelo” on GMA News TV over the weekend.
“Kailangan lang natin siguraduhin na laging nasa tama ang mga lumalabas sa bibig natin, na dapat nakakapagbigay kasiyahan sa tao at syempre kailangan wag nating kalimutan pasalamatan si Lord,” added Richards, who was the special guest of Michael Angelo Lobrin in the only inspirational comedy talk show.
Richards, 24, also said that the tandem of AlDub in the kalyeserye episode of the popular noontime show Eat Bulaga” has really changed his life for the better.
“Ako talaga I couldn’t ask for more. I just realized since AlDub came in na nabago na talaga yung buhay ko. The less we ask, the more we are given,” the actor said.
Richards recalled his humble beginnings when he was just starting in show business, including those days when he had to take the public transport to get to the studio.
“Small family lang kami who grew up in the province. I finished high school and then my mom died when I was 16 or 17.
My dad resigned from his job and most of us were still in school that time. I gave way sabi ko sige sila na muna magtapos and I’ll find something else to do. Then show business came.”
“Wish yan ng mom ko na makita ako sa TV. My mom kasi is a really big fan of teleseryes and telenovelas. Wala rin naman akong sasakyan before so I commute. From Laguna, I ride a tricycle tapos jeep then bus, then LRT. For less than a year, lagi kong ginagawa yun.”
“Of course humble beginnings mahirap talaga but you have to see things from a different perspective kasi if you see hardships in a wrong way mapapagod ka and you will be fed up,” said Richards.
Aside from music, television shows and movies, Richards said that he wants to inspire other people and reach out to them.
“In all things that we do, we have to do it selflessly for other people. Andun yung feeling of reward at mas masarap ang pakiramdam. You’ve done something for other people to make their lives happy and make them better. That’s my motivation. Above all it’s God,” added Richards.
