ANTIPOLO CITY – Former two-time MVP James Yap showed a glimpse of his deadly form as Rain or Shine scored an impressive 105-83 win over Mahindra to stay unbeaten for a share of the lead in the PBA Philippine Cup last night at the Ynares Sports Center here.
Yap, who RoS obtained in a pre-season trade with Star for Paul Lee, finished with 10 points that allowed him to reach a couple of milestones.
Yap made two three-point shots, and the first put him in an elite group of 1,000 three-point club that has Allan Caidic, Ronnie Magsanoc, Al Solis, recently-retired Jimmy Alapag and Dondon Hontiveros.
The second triple at the 11:08 mark of the fourth quarter moved him past Solis into No. 5 overall in the all-time list.
