DAVAO CITY – A school principal was arrested by authorities after being found in possession of drugs, ironically amid the fullest support of President Duterte towards teachers and his public hatred for drugs.
Police have filed a case against 53-year-old Alexander Flores, who was found with four sachets of shabu inside his boarding house in Upper Salazar, Barangay Central, Mati City.
The police raided Flores’s room last Friday morning.
The arrest was an effect of the search warrant released last week by Regional Trial Court Branch 32 Judge Emillio G. Dayanghirang III in Lupon, Davao City.
The former principal of Tagawisan Elementary School was initially reported as failing a random drug test in Brgy. Central, Mati.
However, the regional office of the Department of Education said that the principal was indeed suspended but for administrative charges and not involving drugs.
Flores was suspended for redirecting the maintenance and other operating expenses of his school in questionable transactions, and not for drugs. (Yas D. Ocampo)
