FOUR HOURS ONLY: Stricter rules imposed against child actors working in TV and movies has compelled teleserye producers to work out a scheme limiting their on-set work to only four hours per day.
Such is the directive issued to networks by the Department of Labor and Employment.
ABS-CBN business unit head Ruel Bayani said during the media launch of new program “Langit Lupa” that because the show casts two 7-year old girls in the lead roles, they have to comply strictly with the work restriction.
‘We plan our scenes days before, so that we maximize the four hours allowed for our leads to shoot,’ concurred director Carlo Po Artillaga, one of the show’s two directors. He added that his team usually shoots as many as 12 sequences within those four hours.

ONE SEASON RUN: For this reason, Bayani revealed that “Langit” is looking at only one season, or 13 weeks on air.
Bayani’s production unit is known for producing long – running series that break records in ratings. Langit Lupa , for instance, is replacing his other show, Be My Lady. Before that, his group also produced Be Careful With My Heart.
Bayani compared “Langit at Lupa” with an earlier production of his, “Anna Liza.” ‘However, this one has a lighter touch. Surveys confirm that morning viewers prefer light dramas and a bit of comedy in their viewing fare,’ he said.
Four years after the 2012 Anna Liza, Bayani stated that his team has learned so much more in what to serve audiences.
‘I’d like to think mas na-improve pa namin.’’
