The Senate apparently will not act on the House of Representatives show cause order to Sen. Leila de Lima.
The Senate has reportedly archived the order asking her to explain why she should not be cited in contempt for advising Ronnie Dayan, her former driver and lover, not to attend one of its committee public hearings, reliable sources said.
Sources said the order was archived last Tuesday hours after the House order was submitted to Senate Secretary Lutgardo Barbo by House Majority Leader Rodolfo Farinas and Rep. Reynaldo V. Umali, chairman of the House Justice Committee.
The order was signed by Umali after Hannah Mae Dayan, daughter of Dayan, showed during his November 24, 2016 committee hearing a text message from De Lima advising or telling Dayan not to attend Umali’s committee hearing because House members would only feast on them. (Mario B. Casayuran)
