Philippines’ No. 1 player Treat Huey and Belarusian partner Max Mirnyi have already set their sights at the 2017 Australian Open by lining up at a pre-season tournament early in January.
The Fil-American Huey and the former world No. 1 doubles player Mirnyi will kick off their 2017 season campaign at the ASB Classic in Auckland, New Zealand from Jan. 2 to 14.
The said Association of Tennis Professionals tournament is the same event where Huey and Mirnyi debuted as partners last year. They made a quick first-round exit after a three-set loss to American John Isner and Czech Lukas Rosol.
This time, Huey and Mirnyi expect that their one-year experience as a tandem would eclipse their previous performance at the said tournament as it serves as a pre-event for their Australian Open bid come January in Melbourne.
