A traffic enforcer died after two trailer trucks hit him while manning traffic at an intersection in San Andres, Manila, Sunday dawn, police said yesterday.
Ricardo Fullece, 44, a Skyway traffic auxiliary and resident of Muntinlupa City, was declared dead on arrival at the Philippine General Hospital at 1:30 a.m..
Police said Marjoe Marabe, 36, of Tondo, Manila, driver of the Fuso tractor that first hit Fullece, surrendered to the police, while the unidentified driver of the trailer truck that ran over him fled.
Investigation showed that Fullece was manning traffic at about 12:10 a.m. when the rear portion of the Fuso tractor, which was turning left to Pedro Gil Street from the northbound lane Quirino Avenue, hit him.
The impact caused Fullece to fall to the ground but before he could recover the trailer truck ran over him, traffic enforcer John Dat-on told police.
Marabe faces charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, police said.
