Four persons were injured in an explosion Wednesday in Iligan City.
Major Filemon Tan Jr., spokesperson of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Western Mindanao Command, said an unidentified person wearing black shirt, bonnet, and white shoes on board a motorcycle lobbed a grenade in front of the Western Union branch near the public plaza in Poblacion at about 7 p.m.
Tan said four persons – a man and three women – standing in the area sustained minor injuries in the explosion and taken to the hospital. The victims were Laureto Carabantes, 26; Cristine Mercaderos, 20; Cherryl Paquit, 26; and Shielamae Maagad, 23, all of Iligan.
Military and police teams immediately arrived in the area to investigate the incident.
