OUTSTANDING – From hereon, Highspeed will be naming achievers, newsmakers, pacesetters of 2016.
Let’s start with two outstanding personalities: Willie Revillame and Ai-Ai de las Alas.
Both have the gift of gab and humor and much more, their influence reaching far and wide. At times misunderstood and misjudged… but with undeniable good heart. Unsinkable, survivors.
•
WINNING TOUCH – Willie Revillame has that winning touch, be on ABS-CBN, TV5, and GMA, where he hosts the toprating afternoon game-variety-musical show “Wowowin.”
He made four, as of this writing, instant millionaires. But more than that Willie brings joy to millions of televiewers, both at studio and home. He’s especially kind and generous to senior citizens and children, especially those who are sick and mentally challenged.
No doubt that “Wowowin” helps “24 Oras” with its soaring ratings as it comes right after Kuya Wil’s show.
•
KIND HEART – Four years and years and years, Ai-Ai de las Alas is a volunteer at Mother Teresa’s home for the aged and children, all of whom were abandoned, abused by their families. Aside from material donation, Ai-Ai also personally attends to the wards of Mother Teresa.
Ai-Ai also serves the Catholic Church in Novaliches, QC and helps build churches. She finances the studies of seminarians. Priests and nuns run to her for this and that favor.
For all that, Ai-Ai recently received the Papal Award, the highest honor the Church can give to a lay person. And yes, the Vatican is aware of her imperfect life, but what really matters is the intention to lead a good life. Look, no one among us is perfect. As the Bible says, “He who is without sin cast the first stone.”
Oncam, Ai-Ai’s career as TV host, concert artist, and actress is also doing well.
To Ai-Ai, and Willie, too, keep it up!
