Chester Tolomia sustained his hot form, firing 25 points as Judiciary extended its winning run to five games with a 76-67 win over Bureau of Fire Protection in the 5th UNTV Cup held over the weekend at the University of Makatim gym.
Aside from Tolomia, also delivering for the Judiciary Magis were Don Camaso and Warren Ybanez who finished with 14 and 10 points, respectively.
The win improved Judiciary’s record to 6-1 while the Fire Fighters absorbed their third loss against four wins.
Meantime, Philippine National Police held defending champion Armed Forces of the Philippines to just five points in the payoff period and scored a vengeful 82-67 win in a showdown of last year’s finalists.
Julius Criste and Ollan Omiping starred in that mighty run to lead the PNP Responders with 22 and 17 points, respectively.
The win was PNP’s fifth overall against two defeats.
In the other game of the tournament organized by UNTV president and CEO Daniel Razon, MMDA picked up its fourth win with an 87-79 win over National Housing Authority.
The champion team gets the P500,000 top prize aside from the corresponding P4 million which it will donate to its chosen charity.
