Bumaba ng 32 porsiyento ang crime volume sa Manila simula nang umupo si President Duterte, ayon sa Manila Police District (MPD).
“Because of the intensified and enhanced anti-criminality measure, particularly against illegal drugs, we were able to reduce the crime volume, referring to index crimes,” pahayag ni Supt. Joel Napoleon Coronel, MPD director.
Ang index crimes ay tumutukoy sa murder, homicide, physical injury, and rape, robbery, theft, carnapping/carjacking, at cattle rustling.
“Sa murder, we remain constant at the average of 27 murder/homicide per month. But that does not include those who are killed in legitimate police operations,” sabi ni Coronel. (Jaimie Rose R. Aberia)
