NEW BLOOD – There are at least for new blood from showbiz in the House of Representatives.
One by one now, starting with Monsour del Rosario, representing Makati, where he served as councilor.
In Manila, there’s Yul Servo, city councilor for three times.
The Vera-Perez family has two new congressmen, Edward Maceda (Manila) and Christopher de Venecia (Pangasinan).
Edward, former Manila councilor, is the son of Manay Ichu VP and late Senate President Ernie Maceda. Chris (or Toff) is the son of Manay Gina VP and former Speaker Joe de Venecia. Toff has no political experience.
Manay Ichu and Manay Gina are sisters, daughters of Sampaguita producers Doc Jose R. Perez and Mama Nene Rivera.
Also new in Congress is Vilma Santos, but then she’s a veteran politician (former Lipa mayor and Batangas governor).
Reelected were Alfred Vargas (Quezon City), Sol Aragones (Laguna), Lucy Torres (Ormoc).
By the way, also new in Congress are Chiqui Poa-Puno (Antipolo), who took over the seat of husband Robbie Puno, and Strike Revilla (Bacoor). Chiqui’s the daughter of Boots Anson Roa and Strike’s the son of former Sen. Ramon Revilla.

REVILLAS – The two other Revillas in politics are Lani and son Jolo.
Lani’s the new mayor of Bacoor, taking over Strike, who was mayor three terms. Jolo’s the vice governor of Cavite. He earlier served as board member.
Jolo’s father is the former Sen. Bong Revilla.
By the way, the mayor of Antipolo, Junjun Ynares, is a Revilla in-law, married to Andeng, sister of Bong and Stike.

MORE NEW NAMES – Not really new, but then they are serving for the first time in their public positions.
San Juan Vice Mayor Janella Estrada, daughter of Sen. Jinggoy.
Ormoc Mayor Richard Gomez, husband of Rep. Lucy Torres.
In the Senate, Rissa Hontiveros and Leila de Lima are first timers.
