Ipinatupad ni San Juan City Mayor Guia Gomez ang kautusan ng Sandiganbayan Sixth Division na nasu-suspinde kina konsehal Leonardo Celles, Vincent Rainier Pacheco at Public Information Officer Grace C. Pardines.
Ang pagsuspendi sa tatlo ay may kinalaman sa P2.1 milyong pagbili ng mga baril para sa lungsod noon taong 2008 sa pamumuno ni Senator Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito.
Nahaharap sila sa kasong technical malversation dahil sa bawal na paggamit ng public funds sa ilalim ng Article 220 of the Revised Penal Code.
“In compliance with your directive under Resolution promulgated on November 29, 2016, I am implementing the 90-day preventive suspension of Celles, Cortes, and Pacheco, all of the city government of the city of San Juan,” ayon sa memo ni Gomez sa korte.
Noong Agosto, pinatawan Sandiganbayan Fifth Division si Ejercito ng 90 araw na suspension dahil sa paglabag sa Section 3(e) ng R.A. 3019.
Kasamang nasuspinde sina San Juan City Administrator Ranulfo Barte Dacalos, City Legal Officer Romauldo Corpuz De Los Santos, and Special Assistant on Documentation and Compliance Lorenza Catalan Ching. (Czarina Nicole O. Ong)
