Four Makati City policemen are in hot water after a Thai woman filed a kidnapping and extortion complaint against them before the National Bureau of Investigation.
A source from the NBI said the complainant sought the help of the agency after the policemen, Chief Insp. Aurelio Domingo, head of the Makati police Special Operations Group; PO3 Marvin Garcia, PO2 Lloyd Fernandez, and PO1 Shamindoning Tomondog, arrested her partner, Rodolf Galicia, and demanded P500,000 for his “safe release.”
Galicia was arrested for alleged illegal possession of a .38 caliber revolver loaded with ammunition in a “legitimate operation” while he was walking on Chino Roces Ave. in Makati at dawn Wednesday.
Galicia’s partner told the NBI that policemen of the Makati police Special Operation Group demanded money from her in exchange for the dropping of charges against him on Wednesday night.
The complainant sought the help of the NBI which hatched an entrapment operation in Makati.
After several hours, the policemen changed their plan and said the payoff should be done inside their office in Barangay San Antonio, Makati.
The NBI sought the assistance of Chief Supt. Ramon Apolinario, Southern Police District director, after they deemed it was “impractical, if not impossible” to conduct the entrapment operation inside the police station.
