JUST A THOUGHT: Life is inherently risky. There is only one big risk you should avoid at all costs, and that is the risk of doing nothing. – Denis Waitley

MAY VISION SI VIN: Five years into acting, Vin Abrenica says he sees himself as a professional actor in the long haul.
“I want to be better. I want to keep on improving,’’ he told media during a recent interview in line with his breakout film, “Moonlight Over Baler.”
Younger brother to matinee idol Aljur, Vin doesn’t tire answering questions comparing and contrasting the two of them.
‘It can’t be helped. But, I believe I have a different career path from him.’
He discourages any more comparison, especially when it comes to matters as to who’s the better actor between them.
“We support each other.’’ Vin literally supported his kuya Aljur by playing a key role in 2016’s historical drama “Ang Hapis at Himagsik ni Hermano Puli.” He delivered a scene-stealing performance, marked by his magnetic screen presence.

SINUSWERTE SA ABS-CBN: Vin finds himself lucky that upon the expiration of his contract with TV5, he landed on ABS-CBN.
He has a film that’s now showing, Extra Service, and a teleserye in the works.
However, “Moonlight Over Baler,” what can be considered his launching film, is produced by Rex A. Tiri’s T-Rex Productions.
“I did the film before I signed up with ABS,” he said.
Vin will soon be seen opposite Maja Salvador in ABS-CBN’s upcoming sexy soap opera “Wildflower.”

MOONLIGHT OVER BALER: Moonlight is set mostly in the scenic historic town of Baler. Its story takes place in two eras: the early 1940s and the summer of 1986.
Vin plays the dual roles of Nestor, a Filipino USAFFE soldier who fights the Japanese Occupation during World War II, and Nestor’s doppelganger Kenji, a Japanese photojournalist and surfing enthusiast who visits Baler after covering the Edsa Revolution.
His dual lead roles mean he has two romantic leading ladies – Sophie Albert, who plays Nestor’s fiancée Fidela, and Ellen Adarna, who portrays Aurora, the feisty Nursing student who steals Kenji’s heart.
Vin, in fact, has a third leading lady in Elizabeth Oropesa, who stars as the 65-year-old spinster Fidela, who bridges both timelines by reliving her romance with her one true love Nestor and serving as Kenji’s coach in his courtship of Aurora.
Directed by Gil Portes from a Palanca Award-winning screenplay by Enrique Ramos, “Moonlight Over Baler” also stars Daria Ramirez, Menggie Cobarrubias, Angie Ferro, Abel Estanislao, Dennis Coronel, Alvin Fortuna. (NESTOR CUARTERO)
