Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) confiscated yesterday around R10-million worth of cocaine hidden in pieces of ceramics during a raid on a building in Quezon City, authorities reported yesterday.
Initial reports disclosed that the two kilos of cocaine were shipped from Australia.
Prior the recovery of the illegal drug, the Australian Federal Police messaged the PDEA that an American drug courier named Corey Cornnel Drew, who was arrested earlier in their country, was able to send one package of cocaine to the Philippines.
Another package was recovered in Australia.
PDEA operatives immediately acted on the information and recovered the cocaine in a building in Quezon City.
Wilkins Villanueva, PDEA National Capital Region (NCR) director, confirmed that drug couriers are now using ceramics to conceal the cocaine they send to intended destinations. (CHITO CHAVEZ)
