REAL-life sweethearts James Reid and Nadine Lustre have said that they use each other’s cellphones but never read the messages as a sign of respect.
“We use each other’s cellphones but we don’t open the messages,” said Reid during an interview on “Tonight with Boy Abunda” on ABS-CBN.
“Kasi before I had a hard time trusting. So parang ngayon, I learned how to trust nang buo and it’s much easier,” Lustre said.
On their first anniversary as sweethearts, the love team of Reid and Lustre, popularly known as JaDine, said that they wanted to go somewhere else.
“We wanna go on hiking po sana,” said Lustre, 23. They became sweethearts at their sold-out “JaDine in Love” concert on Feb. 20, 2016.
JaDine appeared on the late-night show to thank their fans who supported their primetime series “Till I Met You” which ended its run last Jan. 20.
Reid, 23, had said that more projects are being prepared in the near future.
“I think we have movies being planned. Music… it’s coming soon and tours also are being lined up,” the actor said.
Of his latest CD, Reid has said that he is dedicating his album to Lustre.
“I was inspired by the love of Nadine. These are the songs I wrote after we got together,” Reid said.
Abunda also asked them about the things they missed now that they are popular.
“I miss the privacy. We cannot go out without a stolen photo. Kakain kami nakabuka yung bibig mo nang malaki. ‘Yun lang but it’s okay,” said Lustre.
Reid said: “I miss more time with my family. Time for my family.”
As sweethearts, they said that they always agree to disagree on certain things, including petty issues.
“Sobrang babaw lang. Katulad ng cellphone n’ya. By accident nabagsak ko s’ya. Hindi naman sinasadya at na-tap ko lang. After that there was a small argument. Ako kasi ayoko ng nagtataasan ng boses. Hindi ko muna s’ya kinausap. In the end, nag-text na rin kami and we said sorry,” said Lustre.
“It wasn’t the phone that I was upset about. It was the way it happened,” the Filipino-Aussie actor said.
“Ako kasi pag nangyayaring ganun, lumalayo ako. Ayaw n’ya ng ganun,” added Lustre.
“I like to talk about it. I really give space and usually she comes back,” said Reid. “I don’t need a sorry, I want a hug or kiss.”
