At least 34 Rotary Clubs in Quezon City have fielded teams to the 2017 Rotabowl Championships that offer a brand new 220 cc Kawasaki Bajaj Avenger as the grand prize for a perfect game.
Rotary International District 3780 Governor Dwight Ramos will formally open today the second leg of the bowling tournament to be hosted by Rotary Club of Quirino-Quezon City at the Sta. Lucia Bowling Lanes in Pasig City.
RCQQC President Joseph Lozano disclosed that at least 34 Rotary groups will participate in the two-month bowling championship that will also launch the Donate-a-Strike program to help raise funds for various RCQQC community and youth projects.
Lozano said RCQQC and participating Rotary Clubs will raise funds to support the implementation of several projects, including the Signals for Hand and Oral Understand Training which offers sign language education to non-deaf schoolchildren of the Batino Elementary School in order to allow them to communicate with deaf students enroled in the school’s special education unit.
Lozano said Kawasaki Philippines led the sponsors by offering a Kawasaki motorcycle to the first player who can complete a perfect game of 12 consecutive strikes.
Tasked to manage the bowling competition are Placido “Ding” Galias as tournament director and Ben Rosario, program director for Donate-a-Strike.
