Wearing red clothes and serving 12 lucky fruits on Chinese New Year will bring good luck in 2017, according to a feng shui expert.
“Red is a happy color that’s why people who will wear red clothes will have a bright future this year,” said feng shui Master Hanz Cua, during an exclusive interview in Mandaluyong City.
The eve of Chinese New Year will take place on Friday, Jan. 27. The Year of the Fire Rooster will start on Saturday, Jan. 28.
Cua also encouraged the public to serve 12 lucky fruits during Chinese New Year. These fruits are:

Cua also shared practical tips in welcoming the Chinese New Year for prosperous and positive vibes, based on his new best-selling book “Master Hanz Cua Feng Shui 2017 Book.”
1) Do not make a major cleanup in the house on Jan. 28 because it will weed out good luck.
2) On the eve of Chinese New Year, have dinner with your family as symbol of closeness and intimacy.
3) Put a bowl full of Mandarin oranges on the table and distribute it to family members during dinner. Mandarin oranges symbolize prosperity, good fortune and longevity.
4) If you have the time, visit your friends and celebrate Chinese New Year with them.
5) Try to hide sharp objects like knives, blades and scissors so that they cannot be seen easily on Chinese New Year. These items are considered unlucky.
6) Pay debts or loans.
7) Use fireworks to ward off evil spirits.
8) Serve and eat fish, spring rolls, dumplings and rice cakes for good luck for the incoming year.
9) Go to church and pray for a smooth new year.
