Manny Pacquiao will never get the chance to get back at Juan Manuel Marquez even if somebody comes out with $100 million as a lure to get the Mexican master back in the ring with the Filipino star.
“There are rumors on the networks that I have been offered $60 million to again fight Manny Pacquiao, but even if they give me $100 million, I will not fight him,” Marquez told the Mexican media recently.
Marquez, 43, who knocked out Pacquiao with just one punch in December 2012, brushed off claims that he will agree to face his old rival for the fifth time if the price is right.
Pacquiao won two of the four fights of his storied rivalry with Marquez starting with an all-action 12-round draw in May 2004.
Pacquiao, 38, is being groomed to return to the ring on April 23 possibly in Australia against little-known Jeff Horn.
Marquez, who has a 56-7-1 win-loss-draw record with 40 KOs, hasn’t fought since outpointing Mike Alvarado in May 2014.
A knee injury prompted Marquez to become inactive the last couple of years but the exceptionally-skilled counterpuncher insists that he continues to be in shape.
Marquez feels that he is good for two more fights before closing the chapter to a Hall of Fame career.
