LAPU-LAPU CITY, Cebu – The wife of a big time drug lord killed in 2005 was arrested by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Region 7 here Friday night.
PDEA Region 7 Director Filemon Ruiz identified the suspect as Janice Nodalo.
Janice was the wife of suspected big time drug lord and robbery gang leader Joel Nodalo who was killed by a lone gunman inside a cockpit in Buenavista, Bohol on June 23, 2005.
Ruiz said Janice was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted after two months of surveillance.
Seized from Janice was one kilo of suspected shabu valued at P6 million.
Ruiz said the Nodalo couple used to live in Barangay Hipodromo, Cebu City until Joel went to Bohol following a series of robberies that tagged him as mastermind.
Following Joel’s death, Janice transferred to Lapu-Lapu City and allegedly continued the drug operations of her husband. (Mars W. Mosqueda Jr.)
