ACTRESS Gretchen Barretto said that she is not a big fan of roses on Valentine’s Day and would rather settle for anything “grand but green.”
Barretto shared her preference for greens on her latest video post on Instagram which showed her friend Al Purugganan doing beautiful flower and plant arrangements for their residences in posh villages.
“My dear Al Purugganan never fails to make beautiful flower and plant arrangements for our home, he was telling me how expensive roses are since Valentine is around the corner. The trick is… not to buy roses in February. I enjoy watching Al do what he does best,” said Barretto on her IG post.
The actress was overheard in the video as saying, “The trick is not to buy roses because that’s the one that’s expensive. The trick is to buy… better nga greens eh.”
Barretto said that she does not like roses because they easily die.
“I don’t like roses for Valentine ’pag mag-order si ano…,” she said.
Purugannan asked her: “Anong gusto mo?”
“More on grand but green,” she said. “I don’t want anything that’s gonna die easily.”
Barretto, 46, is the common-law partner of business tycoon Tony Boy Cojuangco. They have a daughter, Dominique.
