Singer-turned-blogger Mocha Uson has said that she has changed her image from being sexy to conservative.
“Yun naman po talaga ’yung imahe ko nuon. Ang inspirasyon namin nuon ay Pussycat Dolls. Kung ano ’yung uso nuon, s’yempre kung ano sa entertainment, sinasabayan mo ‘yun. Tulad nila Lady Gaga. So ’yun po ’yung imahe ko nuon. But the Mocha Girls have changed,” said Uson in an interview on “Tonight With Boy Abunda” on ABS-CBN.
“Kumbaga sa performance namin from SPG (strict parental guidance), PG (parental guidance) na. The same with Mocha Uson. Nagbago na po ako,” said Uson, a staunch supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte.
Uson, who is Margaux Justiniano Uson in real life, also explained how she got appointed as a board member of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) which received different reactions.
“I was offered on the condition na walang sahod. Ganito po ang storya nyan. Nalaman ko sa mga kapwa supporters ko na may bakanteng posisyon sa MTRCB na inalok sa ibang artists pero tinanggihan nila ito dahil mababa ’yung compensation mababa ’yung salary,” she said.
Uson, 34, said that she will not receive any centavo for being part of the MTRCB. Instead, her monthly salary will go to two groups.
“I will donate 100 percent of my salary to DSWD centers at sa Duterte’s Kitchen,” she added.
Asked if she was an effective ambassadress of the Metro Manila Film Festival, Uson said: “Nasa sa tao yan eh. May nagsasabing oo, may nagsasabing hindi. Sa akin kinuha nila akong ambassadress one week before the filmfest and I’ve done my best to educate the people why they should support the MMFF. So nasa kanila na ’yun. But I did my job.”
Uson also said that news items posted on her Facebook were all verified for authenticity.
“Ako lang naman ang admin dun. May nilalagay ako dun na mga sources ko kung saan ko nakukuha ’yung mga news na ’yun.
And most of them come from government agencies,” she added.
Uson also said that she has no plans of running in the elections in the future.
“Ay wala po. Volunteer lang. Anyone can serve the country, the government through volunteerism.
Born and raised in Dagupan, Pangasinan, Uson is the daughter of the late Judge Oscar Uson, who was assassinated in Asingan in 2002, and Estrellita, a pediatrician.
