A 15-year-old Filipino teenager will truly become the queen of prom night when she finally wears the evening gown donated by Miss Bulgaria Universe 2016 Violina Ancheva.
Zyra Nicole Cifra, 15, will wear the evening gown after her single mother, Issay Gallano, responded to Ancheva’s post last Monday, January 30, which stated that she wanted to give the gown to “a girl in need that can’t buy a dress for her prom next month.”
“I was checking my SSS (Social Security System) already so I can buy her a dress because she really wanted a memorable prom this year. And then this necklace I’m ready to pawn this just to add to the budget,” Gallano said.
Gallano said she sent a message to Ancheva but did not expect anything.
Yet Ancheva chose Gallano among the thousands of people who sent her a message.
The beauty queen’s message read: “To my Filipino friends: Dear friends, I would like to give as a present my Miss Universe Gown (on the picture) to one of you that really want it and need it. I want to give the dress to a girl in need that can’t buy a dress for her prom the next month. Please write to me a personal message for details. I am leaving soon, so please hurry up.”
Ancheva told CNN Philippines that she responded to several messages but did not get any reply.
She said that the first winner came from Davao City. But the Bulgarian beauty queen said that she had no time to go to Davao City anymore because she was leaving Tuesday night.
