Philippine National Police and Malacañang try to complete the semis cast tomorrow when they go up against their respective quarterfinal rivals in the 5th UNTV Cup at the Pasig City Sports.
Armed with twice-to-beat privileges, PNP and Malacañang need only to beat their rivals once to join No. 1 Bureau of Customs and former champion Judiciary in the semis.
The PNP Responders, who finished No. 3 at the end of the two-round elims, collide with No. 6 Bureau of Fire Protection at 3 p.m. with the former out to reaffirm their mastery over the Firefighters in the event presented by UNTV through its president and CEO Daniel Razon.
The winner in the PNP-BFP series will face the Judiciary Magis in the semis.
The Malacañang Kamao, on the other hand, take on the defending champions Armed Forces of the Philippines Cavaliers at 5 p.m. with the victor earning the right to face the BOC Transformers in the other semis pairing.
Both Customs and Judiciary enjoy twice-to-beat advantages in the semis.
The chosen charity institution of the champion team gets P4 million.
Out to lead the Firefighters are former St. Francis of Assisi star Gilbert Malabanan, Gerald Botin and Anthony Lim.
Antonio Tolentino and Ollan Omiping are expected to lead the Responders anew along with ABL veteran Harold Sta. Cruz and Harold Decena.
