Manila Bulletin Publishing Corp. Chairman Basilio C. Yap, in behalf of the men and women behind the Manila Bulletin, renewed the nation’s leading newspaper’s commitment to continue serving as the exponent of Philippine progress, but from this point on, with more vigor to inform, inspire, and empower the nation and the Filipino people, during the Manila Bulletin’s 117th anniversary celebration at the historic landmark Manila Hotel Thursday.
Present at the event at the massive Fiesta Pavilion were former President and Manila Bulletin columnist Fidel V. Ramos, National Security Adviser Secretary Hermogenes Esperon Jr., Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, Sen. Win Gatchalian, former Sen. Heherson Alvarez, Commission on Elections Chairman Andres Bautista, former Press Secretaries Francisco Tatad, Chito Villanueva, Ignacio Bunye, Jun Icban, also Manila Bulletin Editor-in-Chief, and Sonny Coloma, and Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar.

“Philippine progress becomes meaningful and significant when it is achieved inclusively, when the benefits of growth are enjoyed by all Filipinos, when no Filipino family is left behind in the country’s forward move toward economic prosperity. Walang iwanan,” Chairman Yap added.
To attest to its rich history and advanced innovation, a showcase of the Manila Bulletin’s front pages through the years were on display at the Fiesta Pavilion.
